Question: What is the social aim of FUNdamentals Foundation?
Answer: To fund research into child development, improve opportunities for children, facilitate life-long learning about the environment, ethics, lifestyle, etc.
Question: Why is there a need for this sort of work?
Answer: Children now face issues of family breakdown, childhood obesity, etc. and there is a lack of effective and efficient provision; where it does exist it is patchy.
Question: How will FUNdamentals Foundation address this need?
Answer: It will provide a one-stop shop for anybody interested in providing healthy child development. By coordinating projects and carrying out research it will inform policy and practice in ways that will reduce in more comprehensive service provision which will in turn both save money and promote positive childhoods.
Question: What sort of Social Enterprise is the FUndamentals Foundation?
Answer: A charity - as a Company Limited by Guarantee with 3 volunteer Trustees. (registered charity status pending). Fundamentals Foundation is the trading name for FUNdamentals Development Services Ltd.
Question: Who are the key Stakeholders?
a) Children - who need all the opportunities they can possibly have to realise their potential and grow up into happy, healthy, stable and socially responsible members of their communities.
b) Parents - who need to feel supported, informed and empowered to raise their children in a healthy and positive environment
c) Government, especially Local Authorities -who need to ensure that policies are grounded and evidence based and can be effectively implemented.
d) Social workers and any professional working with child development - who need an increased understanding of the needs of families in 21st Century Britain, ideally so that these professionals can develop tools which aid their work with children.
